Public Liability Insurance is intended to fund legal costs in the defence of action taken against you by a third party. For example, supposing you were to cause personal injury or damage to someone's property in the course of your beekeeping activities, and that person decided to sue you, your insurance will pay for your defence costs up to £5 million. PLI does NOT cover bee diseases, but DOES NOW INCLUDE product liability. It does not replace or supplement your motor insurance. PLI is offered to UK Beekeepers ONLY at a special low rate of £5.00 pa when purchased with Friends of the Bees Membership. The PLI policy runs from March 8 for 12 months regardless of when you join. This means that you can add it at any time to your membership and you must renew it to ensure continuous cover. PLEASE NOTE: we will continue to offer this PLI as long as members continue to support it in sufficient numbers. It is a real bargain at only £5.00 per year!
